What is “Find Peace of Mind”?

Meditation

Find Peace of Mind offers meditation courses and workshops for people interested in finding ways to reduce their stress, increase their relaxation response, and enhance their health and well-being.

Taught by Dr. John I. Stewart, MD and Bette Hodgins, BScPT and certified yoga teacher, Find Peace of Mind classes explore various meditation styles, and help students discover a meditation practice that is most effective for them in achieving a more calm and peaceful outlook on life.

Why Meditate?

Job concerns. Financial worries. Health troubles. Aging parents. All of these frequently lead to stress, anxiety and insomnia. Small wonder many of us have minds that are agitated and on “red alert” much of the time.

Fortunately there is something we can all do to calm the mind and decrease stress.

If you are seeking ways that will help you cope with the stresses and strains of every day life, consider adding meditation as a self-help skill. Meditation employs your “inner guidance system”, helping you to acknowledge, accept and let go of thoughts and emotions that do not serve you. It is simple, effective and drug-free!

Note: Meditation is not a replacement for counselling or therapy, although it can be used as an adjunct to mainstream care. If you are experiencing a crisis, speak to your health care professional about receiving the appropriate treatment for your needs.
