Manifesting Grace Through Gratitude

Gratitude is a powerful way of nurturing inner resilience, joy and calm. Dr Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey are once again offering their free, 21-day online meditation experience called, “Manifesting Grace Through Gratitude”

The event starts March 25th, 2019. The daily guided meditations are approximately 15 to 20 minutes in length, and are a wonderful way to start…. or end… your day.

As the saying goes, “It is not happiness that creates gratitude. It is gratitude that creates happiness.”

A Gift of Mindfulness from Dr. Rick Hanson

scroogeT’is the season for peace, joy and love….as well as expectations unfulfilled, relationships that wound and the pressures of materialistic gift-giving. Whew. Small wonder so many people find this time of year to be less “Ho Ho Ho” and more “Bah. Humbug”!

For a short time,Dr. Rick Hanson is freely offering his talk on cultivating the “Green Zone” in your brain – the place where there is indeed peace, joy and love. He also talks about ways to diminish the effects of the “Red Zone” – where we typically go when we hit the wall.

He also is sharing his interview on mindfulness with Dr. Jack Kornfield, a gentle, wise soul and renowned meditation teacher (as well as clinical psychotherapist).

Lack of sun getting you down? Try this guided meditation.

The lack of sun at this time of year can be upsetting. I for one find that my sleep pattern (fragile at the best of times!) is almost always disturbed as my time outdoors is limited by the cold temperatures and snowy conditions. Some people find their mood is low, or just feel a little “off” due to lack of sunshine.

Regardless of the reason, this lovely meditation is very soothing, helping to ease frazzled nerves and calm the restless mind. If you are looking for a balm for the spirit, try this six-minute meditation by Dr. Tim Brieske of the Chopra Center. While it is aimed primarily at those who are predominantly of the Pitta Dosha, it works well for everyone.

An “Introduction to Meditation” starts February 4th
